The highlighted parts of this post are from Mary!
This is something new_focusing on what we don’t want_ and yet that is the instruction from Lena Stevens at the Power Path at this Full Moon. Full Moons are about letting go but this one is an especially powerful one occurring right on the heels of the Equinox. In addition to letting go of patterns we don’t want to carry into a new cycle that is occurring, we are also encouraged to let go of how the future will look and allow ourselves to be shown. Lena says: “Right on the heels of the Equinox is the Full Moon on Monday September 24 at 8:52 PM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). This Full Moon further supports the energy of the Equinox for release, restructuring and recalibration. As you work primarily with what you are letting go of, gain clarity by focusing on what you don’t want instead of second guessing how the future may unfold. In this way you may gain some clarity on a new direction.”
Why do we pay attention to the moon cycles anyway? Cathy Pagano at Wisdom of Astrology explains that working with cycles of the Moon keeps us in the Now.
“The Moon is a mystery-keeper as well as a time-keeper. Working with the cycle of the Moon can keep us centered in the NOW as well as in Eternity. For there are two types of time. Chronos time is our clock time, the time we agree to share with others. Kairos time is Spirit’s time – real time, eternal time. The Moon can ground us in both.”
And that this Full Moon begins a new cycle with the question_Who am I in relationship with others?
“This Aries/Libra Full Moon is the beginning of a another cycle, since Aries is that fire-bolt from heaven that starts the whole thing rolling. Every year at this time, we begin a new emotional, lunar cycle through the zodiac. While the solar cycle starts in March/April with the Sun in Aries and impels us to find out who I am, the Aries lunar cycle begins in August/September with the question, who am I in relationship with others? It coincides with the harvest times in the northern hemisphere.”
“The storyline for each Aries Full Moon is the Libra mystery: how do you and I compliment each other? How well do we fit together? How do we achieve some kind of balance between me and my desires, and you and your desires? How do I relate to others? To my family and friends, lovers and strangers? How do I relate to the world?”
These are good questions. The “who am I” question is usually answered by what we are identified with in ourselves such as name, gender, occupation etc. Of course, as Rebekah Hirsch explained in a previous post, we have aspects of ourselves that are hidden until we unearth them and become aware of them. These are also a part of who we are but are parts of ourselves that we have disowned and are unconscious. Beyond this is awareness of ourselves as an individuated soul; this often comes on the spiritual path or in spiritual study. And lastly we become aware of ourselves as a piece of the Divine incarnated; not only Divine but with aspects to heal for ourselves and for the collective consciousness we are a part of.
The bigger question this moon asks us to explore is how do we meet our own needs while honoring the needs of the Other? How do we respect each other? How do we each compliment each other? And with what parts of ourselves do we relate to others and to the world? I would like to suggest that If we are able to create a balance within the opposites within ourselves consciously, we will have the tools to balance our needs with the needs of the Other. I have found Voice Dialogue and excellent way to do that. ~ Blessings, Mary
I conclude with a quote from Lena Stevens:
“As you let go of the patterns that have held what you no longer want in place, there will be a need for choice. You are the only one who can make the choice you need to make and it may take courage and commitment. Use the mental creativity available at this time, as well as an open vulnerable heart in the process of healing, to connect with what you have a passion for. This will inspire you to reach for that new frequency that will support the bigger picture, the longview, and the change you need to make for a new path forward.” |
